Nelson Bay Croquet Club has been established for 24 years. It is located in the Blue Water Paradise of Port Stephens, just north of Newcastle, NSW. Membership is open to all who are interested in the game, and visitors are warmly welcomed.
​
Members play all the three internationally recognised forms of Croquet – Golf, Ricochet and Association. The Club plays both social and competitive games five days each week on four professionally maintained full sized courts and has a small clubhouse on-site. We also have an active program of social events.

HUNTER CHALLENGE DIVISION 3
Tuesday 13th April 2021
Toronto Croquet Club hosted the inaugural Division 3 Hunter Challenge GC doubles competition. Barry Elliott & Ian Spight won Block C ending the day undefeated. Sherry Gordon & Rae Uptin in Block A and Victor Goodsir & Jan Puckeridge in Block B were competitive but did not finish at the top.

NSW GC WOMEN'S OPEN SINGLES CHAMPIONSHIP
9th - 11th April 2021
The Championship was played at Tempe with 12 players who played a round robin preliminary round before the top 8 played knock-out quarter finals.
​
Sandy Tawa won 4 games in the round-robin but lost a play-off for 8th place to Jill Sullivan (Sutherland). As a result, Sandy played in the Plate competition which she won undefeated, beating Nerida Taylor (Toronto) 7-4 7-3 and Roslyn Johnstone (Sutherland) 7-4 7-5.

Pam Barnwell won 6 games in the round-robin and went on to beat Elizabeth Montague (Killara) 7-2 7-6 in the quarter final before losing to eventual winner Alison Sharpe (Killara) 2-7 5-7

STATE PENNANTS 2021
Thursday 1st April 2021
The Division 2 State Pennants season started on Thursday 1st April with Team Samurai hosting Maitland at Tomaree Sports Complex.

Liz Friend, Peter Gordon, Karen Lilly and Sandy Tawa did the Club proud with an emphatic 3-0 win. Peter won his singles game in 2 games as did Liz and Karen in the doubles

HUNTER CHALLENGE DIVISION 2
Wednesday 31st March 2021
Maitland Croquet Club hosted the inaugural Division 2 Hunter Challenge GC doubles competition. Liz Friend & Peter Gordon won Block B ending the day undefeated. Cheryl Lloyd & Sandy Tawa and Linda Butler & David Wilson were competitive in Block A but did not finish at the top.

DOWN COMES THE TREE
Tuesday 30th March 2021
Port Stephens Council removed the dead tree on the western boundary of the courts on Tuesday 30th March. Intrepid photographer Karen Lilly got sawdust in her bra taking these photographs.

STATE PENNANTS 2021
Sunday 28th March 2021
The State Pennants season started on Sunday 28th March with Team Birubi hosting EDSACC White in a Division 3 match at Tomaree Sports Complex.
​
Rae Black, Sherry Gordon, Kay Smith and Rae Uptin did the Club proud with a close fought win. All 3 matches went to 3 games and 2 were decided on the 13th hoop. No issues were encountered with the introduction of timed games.
The season is off to a great start for the Club!!
