Nelson Bay Croquet Club has been established for 24 years. It is located in the Blue Water Paradise of Port Stephens, just north of Newcastle, NSW. Membership is open to all who are interested in the game, and visitors are warmly welcomed.
Members play all the three internationally recognised forms of Croquet – Golf, Ricochet and Association. The Club plays both social and competitive games five days each week on four professionally maintained full sized courts and has a small clubhouse on-site. We also have an active program of social events.

CNSW State Pennants 2020
CNSW have advised that the State Pennants Division 2 and 3 have been cancelled in 2020 because of the on-going COVID restrictions.
Competition Dates for 2020
All the club competitions are on hold due to the COVID-19 crisis. The dates will be re-scheduled once close to normal play is possible

NSW GOLD BROOCH CHAMPIONSHIP
SandY Tawa partnered Kate McLoughlin of Canberra Croquet Club in the NSW Gold Brooch, a doubles GC competition for a Division 1 player (GC handicap 0-4) partnered with a Division 2 player (GC handicap 5-8). The competition was held at Canberra Croquet Club between 17th-19th August.
Sandy and Kate won 6 matches of 10 in the double round-robin to finish 3rd and qualify for the semi-finals. They then beat Gerda Lambeck and Jill Jones (Canberra) 7-4 7-3 in the semi-final and Mark Scruton & Kevin McGlynn (Canberra/Queanbeyan) 7-3 7-1 in the final.

NSW BRONZE BROOCH CHAMPIONSHIP
The NSW Bronzed Brooch championship was held at Cheltenham Croquet Club on 10th-12th August. Sandy Tawa won the championship undefeated over the 3 days.
Sandy won 10 games in the qualifying round-robin before beating Penny Paterson of Mosman 7-5 in the semi-final and Dianne Bonnitcha of Sutherland in the 7-5 in the final.

NSW Bronze Brooch contestants
NSW DIVISION 3 DOUBLES CHAMPIONSHIPS
The NSW Division 3 doubles championships were held at Mosman Croquet Club on 15th & 16th July. Liz Friend & Barry Elliott finished runners-up to Wendy Herbert & Malcolm Powys of Marrickville.
Liz and Barry finished 2nd in their block with 3 wins from 5 games. They then beat Cali Craig & Denise Howarth of Mosman 7-2 in the quartet final and Heather Sherlock & Peter Lewis of Mosman 7-5 in the semi-final, before losing 3-6 in the final.

The greening of the new courts has begun - the good garden fairies, cleverly disguised as Lucy, Jan P and Rae B, have paid us a visit.
